Anthurium rugulosum
Sodiro
Below
are two close-up photos of the underside of
Anthurium rugulosum Sodiro.
As can be seen, the plant has
pubescence
(hair) on the petiole and veins. Pubescence is uncommon to aroids.
The pubescence on our specimen is
quite short and fine
indicating
the plant came from
the Baeza-El Chaco region of Ecuador. The photos are strongly
magnified and are approximately
6 and 4 times life size. The pubescence appears to be less than
1/2 mm in most cases, especially on the petiole. The lower
part of the measuring tape is in millimeters. The distance between
the red "10" and black "1" which
follows is 1 centimeter.
